Mission Statement

The Humble Walk is an Inclusive Christian Community at the University of Maryland. We exist to walk with Jesus and with each other. Together, we explore faith, serve others, and have a lot of fun along the way.

  • We root everything in Jesus and the way he loved.

  • Students lead this ministry and make it their own. We show up for each other and do life together.

  • Like Jesus, we go towards the people others left out. We are LGBTQ+ affirming and welcoming to all.

  • We make space for exploration and questions. No one has faith all figured out.

  • We take seriously the call to serve like Jesus did sometimes that looks like advocacy, others it's volunteering in afterschool programs or handing out a warm meal.

  • Joy is part of the Gospel. There's always room for laughter and adventuring together.

You are welcome here. This is a place for you whether you're new to faith, questioning your faith, or have been committed to faith your whole life. We're committed to the work of anti-racism, environmental justice, and liberation for all people. We believe all are made in God's image and unconditionally loved. We welcome you in every way you define yourself including: race, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, ability, gender expression. We're grateful for every gift those identities bring.
