Support Our Ministry

Take part in this journey with us

Thank you!

Each gift given to this ministry supports students as they develop their faith, learn leadership skills, and expand their horizons through travel and service. This community exists for students at the University of Maryland because of the support from the wider community. Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Platz Endowment Fund

The Elizabeth Platz Endowment Fund ensures the continuation of the work which Pastor Beth has carried out as Lutheran Chaplain at the University of Maryland. Your gift will impact not only the lives of students here on campus, but also the many people they serve. Thank you for your donation!

Amy Sichler Fund

Dedicated in memory of Amy Sichler, a University of Maryland graduate (2013) who embodied the values of the children’s programs of the Lutheran Campus Ministry. As a student leader of the CARing Project and volunteer in all the programs, she touched the lives of countless school children.

Tragically, Amy died on October 1st 2016 in a car accident. This memorial fund helps continue her legacy of love, compassion and hope for the care of children.

This fund was created to support the children's ministry programs with the Lutheran Campus Ministry. These programs include the CARing Project, mentoring for at risk children, En Camino tutoring program, Backpack Project providing hundreds of full backpacks to low-income families every year, and the Warm Coat Project that provides coats, gloves, hats and scarves to children each winter.
